- My name is Dave Hecht and I am a Public Affairs Officer in the United States Navy. I'm currently serving in Afghanistan with NATO Forces out of Kabul. I'm married to my best friend and we have two of the greatest kids on Earth. It's going to be a long 10-months away from the people I love the most, but I'm getting a chance to serve my country while seeing history from the front lines. Hey, I sent you s box of goodies to your APO, its free to send stuff APO to APO as long as it is a "gift" just so you know...I sent a bunch of pencils to pass out to the kiddies there too...I know it may seem werid but how can a kid go to school without a pencil? anyway expect a box of stuff soon thta you can give away on your next Civil Affairs type trip or keep...stay safe

Thank you. Pencils aren't a weird or uncommon item. I must have given away a 1,000 pencils on this trip. We have many more trips planned to hospitals, orphanages and schools so your donation is much appreciated.
